Meeting
Planning Commission — Thu, Aug 13, 2026
Thu, August 13
Four land-use projects will face public hearings. A 142,797-square-foot light industrial building on a 7.7-acre vacant site at Bay Avenue and Day Street will continue to a future meeting date. At Cactus Avenue and Indian Street, a convenience store, fueling station with ten fuel dispensers, and drive-through car wash with eight vacuum stalls, plus a retail building, received approval. The Brodiaea residential development will add 134 single-family homes on 14.4 acres north of Brodiaea Avenue and east of Moreno Beach Drive; the commission recommended the city council adopt environmental review and approve the project. Amendments to the Circulation Element and truck route ordinance also move forward for city council consideration. Public testimony on each hearing item is limited to three minutes per speaker; those wishing to speak should submit a speaker slip to planning staff.
