The City Council holds a study session on Tuesday September 8 to discuss data centers, with public comment open to residents. The Planning Commission meets Thursday September 10 for a public hearing on Plot Plan PEN25-0144, which proposes a Northgate Market grocery store on a vacant 4.31-acre site at the northeast corner of Perris Boulevard and Brodiaea Avenue. The Planning Commission will consider whether to approve the project, which staff has recommended for approval under a categorical exemption from California Environmental Quality Act review as an in-fill development.

The Moreno Valley Public Library system continues its regular programs across multiple branches this week. ABC's & 123's sessions for preschoolers run at the Main Library on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., at the Mall Branch on Wednesday at 11 a.m., and at Iris Plaza on Thursday at 10 a.m. Toddler Time for children ages 12 to 36 months meets at the Main Library on Friday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., and at the Mall Branch on Saturday at 11 a.m. For school-age children, Discovery Club meets Tuesday and Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Main Library and Thursday and Friday at 4 p.m. at the Mall Branch for hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Mix, a Wednesday afternoon program for teens ages 13 to 18 at the Mall Branch, offers book discussions, crafts, and workshops. Game On! for teens and young adults features video games and virtual reality experiences at Iris Plaza on Thursday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. Family Fun creative projects run throughout the week at both Main and Mall branches, with limited seating available.

Talk MoVal, an English conversation group for all proficiency levels, meets Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Main Library and Friday at 5 p.m. at Iris Plaza. Pijama y Cuentos ~ Pajamas & Stories, a bilingual program for children under 5, convenes Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Main Library. Cuento Bilingüe ~ Bilingual Storytime runs Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Mall Branch. The Main Library hosts Nuestra Voz on Saturday at 11 a.m., celebrating Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month with readings from published and aspiring authors.

Building Up Lives Foundation holds a Shop for a Cause fundraiser Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., selling discounted household products, clothing, and vintage items to support the nonprofit. A free food giveaway takes place every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the foundation's location on Hemlock Avenue.
