This week in Moreno Valley: September 28–October 4

Moreno Valley's public libraries are running a full slate of programs this week for families, young learners, and adults looking to try something new.

The library system offers regular storytimes across all three branches. Toddler Time—stories, rhymes, songs, and movement for ages 12–36 months—meets Monday mornings at Iris Plaza (10:00 and 11:00 AM) and Friday mornings at Main Library (10:00 and 11:00 AM), and Saturday mornings at the Mall branch (11:00 AM). ABC's & 123's, for preschoolers ages 3–5, runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Main Library and Iris Plaza, and Wednesday mornings at the Mall branch. Bilingual Storytime in English and Spanish takes place Thursday mornings at the Mall branch (11:00 AM). Space fills quickly at all programs; arrival on time is essential.

For school-age children and teens, Discovery Club meets Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons at 4:00 PM to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on activities. Ages 8–12 are welcome. Game On! at Iris Plaza features video games (Rocket League, Roblox, Minecraft) and tabletop role-playing games for teens and emerging adults Thursday and Saturday afternoons at 4:00 PM. The Mix, a low-key gathering for ages 13–18 at the Mall branch Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 PM, offers book discussions, crafts, and workshops.

Family Fun creative projects run Monday, Friday, and Saturday at various times across all branches. Thursday evening brings Pajamas & Stories at Main Library (6:00 PM), a bilingual program for under-5s.

Adults have options too. Time for Adults meets Tuesday at the Mall branch and Wednesday at Main Library (both 6:00 PM) to explore new activities. Talk MoVal, a conversational English group for all levels, gathers Thursday at Main Library and Friday at Iris Plaza (both 5:00 PM). Creative Studio at Iris Plaza Thursday at 5:00 PM offers free art instruction and supplies for adults.

A Basic Computer Skills Class covers computer basics, internet use, email, and Microsoft Office—Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM at the Mall branch; registration by phone is encouraged.

Building Up Lives Foundation runs a Shop for a Cause fundraiser Saturday and Sunday evenings (6:00–8:00 PM) at 23185 Hemlock Ave, Suite A, offering low-priced items with proceeds supporting the nonprofit. A free food giveaway takes place Sunday afternoons at 2:30 PM at the same location.
